Phlebotomy
Learn the proper techniques for performing venipuncture and skin puncture. NOTE: Students will practice sticking technique on each other in class. After successful completion of the class/lab portion of class, students will be assigned a 40 hour (1 week) clinical rotation. Second shift clinical sites are very limited.
GED or high school diploma must be presented at registration.
Costs includes: $175 registration fee, textbook, insurance $15.75, and a lab fee of $85 and $5 for CPR. There is an additional fee to register for ASPT exam.
All enrollments must be pre-registered and all fees (tuition, lab & insurance) pre-paid.
NOTICE
Students who plan to register for Phlebotomy classes beginning on or after July 2010 will be required to take Pathways to HealthCare and pass the Phlebotomy placement test offered in the Pathways class. Students who meet certain criteria may be exempt from the Pathways class. For more information, contact Joyce Watson at ext. 4370.

This 50 hour class prepares students to perform and interpret waived/low complexity tests performed in a physician's office or clinic setting.
Prerequisites: HS Diploma/GED, successful completion of formal Phlebotomy Training Program within the last 3 years or minimum of 20 hours/week of phlebotomy employment for the past 12 months if formal training is more than 3 years prior.
Costs includes: $120 registration fee, textbook, insurance $1.25, and a lab fee of $85
